D Ryker Evans to miss significant time, out 6-8 weeks

The Kraken will be Garth-less for over a month as Ryker Evans has an injury that will keep him out awhile.

From one less than ideal situation to an even worse one.

The Kraken announced today that they will be without Ryker Evans for 6 to 8 weeks, as the result of an upper body injury.

Evans was expected to be a mainstay player for Seattle, and played 25:40 of TOI against the Flames on Monday night.

This injury is just one of an increasing number of long injuries the Kraken will have to overcome as they head into the regular season, as they are still down the following players:

  • Jared McCann, who is Day-to-Day
  • Vince Dunn, who is Day-to-Day
  • Brandon Montour, who is Day-to-Day
  • Kaapo Kakko, who is out Six weeks

…And now we get to add Evans to that list. Not ideal is at this point is feeling like a serious understatement.

The Kraken’s rookies will likely be called upon to fill this increasing void, and the Kraken will also have to adjust to life without Evans for quite some time. That will likely mean giving defenders some longer rope in case of trouble.

in any case, we wish Ryker the best, and hope he makes a full recovery.
