Game Preview
The Firebirds got their win against the Bears away from home. That’s huge.
Now they gotta do it again.
The Firebirds went out to a big lead and hung on best they could to beat Hershey in Game 1, and now they need to figure out how to keep up that momentum as the Bears respond. They did keep Hershey to under 20 shots, so they’re already on the right track…but they’ve had some games where they’ve tried to let Chris Driedger handle 30+ shots, and it hasn’t always worked, or if it did…we spent most of the game tearing our hair out. The Bears meanwhile haven’t started a series on the backfoot at all this playoffs, so a major pushback is in order.
The Firebirds found a winning formula in hitting them fast, forcing their defense out wide, and making Hunter Shepard’s life in the crease a miserable experience. If they keep that up…then man
Acrisure Arena awaits…and that building will be a-ROCKIN‘.
Still gotta get through this one though. LET’S GO FIREBIRDS!
