Game Preview
If you can believe it, this is a building the Firebirds have never won a game in.
Last year, the Bears made this building an impenetrable fortress last year in the Calder Cup finals, and as a result the Firebirds’ unfinished business begins with taking it to Hershey and walking out the victor in Game 1. Easier said than done of course; the Bears have once again turned a reasonably sized arena into a battleground throughout the playoffs…but the Firebirds need not worry.
They’ve got Shane Wright back.
…Maybe.
Wright’s made progress since being harmed in the Pacific Division Finals, and all signs appear to point to an inevitable return, but will Disco Dan pull the trigger? He would be a huge help in shutting down all that talent the Bears have…but he is still considered day to day. We’ll only know when the lines are posted.
So let’s do something the Firebirds haven’t done before, and then keep doing it until it sticks. Beat these Bears back to their silly little chocolate themed amusement park.
