Draft class of 2021, take a bow.
The Highlights!
Game Notes
- The Draft Class of 2021 had a huge night tonight, with Ryker Evans, Ryan Winterton, and Jacob Melanson all getting a goal. Hell, it even happened in order of round. Great night for the kids!
- Of course, the kids have to learn from good players, and Cale Fleury got the ball rolling less than a minute in, which snowballed into a first period that just kept building momentum after momentum in order to beat the Ads before they ever had a chance to impose their will. They did eventually pull their game together, but by that point, it was way too late. I am very interested to see how they react on Thursday night, because if they can’t figure out a way to get that offense clicking…they’re probably cooked.
- OH LOOK ZACH L’HEUREUX’S GOT HIMSELF A MISCONDUCT AGAIN WHAT A SHOCK. The Firebirds are in his walls, my dude. He’s completely off his game and that’s clipped a lot of the Admirals attack.
- Another .939 SV% for Chris Driedger, this one being a much more busy one than previous games; the Ads really tried their damnedest to attack the net-front and Coachella…Kinda let them. Driedger kept all but two of the 33 shots out, and most of them from a tough area. First Star well earned.
- That said please keep the Net-front clear for Game 4. These guys are going to be desperate.
The chance of The Thing happening comes to Milwaukee on Thursday, at 5pm PT, where Coachella could indeed advance. Given the way this series has played out, and given how the other series is playing out in the East…
It could be a fight to the finish.
We’ll see you then! Post The Firebird When we win!
