Game 57 RECAP: Ban day games.

The Horror. The Horror.

NHL: Seattle Kraken at San Jose Sharks Robert Edwards-USA TODAY Sports

Matinee games f#!king suck.

If you can stand it, here are the Highlights:

Game Notes:

  • I don’t think any of us in the mood to learn how long certain defensemen were on the ice as TOI leaders.
  • If it’s not the worst, then this one was by far the frustrating game the Kraken have played all year. They’d largely been doing everything right right up until...
  • Yeah. The Yanni thing. I don’t even know how the confluence of things necessary to allow that to happen. After that particular boondoggle of a play, the Kraken seemed terrified of making further mistakes, which as per usual, compounded into worse and worse mistakes and here we are at the end of a 4-0 loss to the goddamn Sharks. Just an unacceptably poor effort by a team that put together an excellent performance against the Red Wings not 48 hours ago.
  • Defenseman shot to the top of my “get this at the deadline” list because of this game. That was just...everybody should be taking laps. Long, painful laps for this game.
  • Martin Jones did not inspire anything resembling confidence tonight and a good portion of this defeat lies at his feet. You’re only as good as your defense sure, but sometimes stuff like details count for something.
  • The Kraken should count themselves extremely lucky that the Oilers haven’t caught up yet due to their incompetence at finishing games in regulation.
  • I need a drink.
  • Still about a week until the deadline. Time to make some moves here, Ronny.
  • Keep calm, and Post Zoidberg When We Win.

Kraken come back home to Seattle, and then take on the Boston Bruins on Thursday at 7pm PT.

Let’s see how Hakstol responds.
