Seattle selects Ty Nelson with the No. 68 overall pick

With the 68th overall pick (and their fifth pick of the draft) the Kraken went with defender Ty Nelson from the Ontario Hockey League’s North Bay Battalion.

Nelson finished the 2021-22 season with 51 points in 66 games — 11th most among defenders in the entire OHL and first among rookie defenders. In general, Nelson is known for his ability to create offense from the blue line. He can skate with the best of them and over thepast two years has basically turned into a human highlight reel. Seriously, look at this stuff:

In short, the Kraken got the kid who BROKE A PUCK IN HALF. This can only be a good sign for the future of the Seattle blue line.
