Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NHL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Kraken fans and fans across the country.

Last week, we asked Kraken fans to give us an honest opinion on a few topics as we head into the meat of the offseason. Here’s what you said:

Heading into the draft with four second-round picks, 48% of respondents said Seattle shouldn’t try to get too fancy with them — just take the four best players.

On the other hand, 52% of respondents thought a trade (either to get back into the first round, or for some more established players) would be the better move. I guess that shows how difficult it can be to make big decisions as a general manager.

Heading into the Kraken’s sophomore campaign without a captain, we asked who would take up Mark Giordano’s mantle next. The majority of respondents agreed that it would be the Kraken Fan Favorite Award winner Yanni Gourde.

Finally, despite a disappointing last-place finish in the Pacific Division last year, 57% of respondents agreed that it’s far too early to cut ties with head coach Dave Hakstol. He will still be the head coach at the end of the 2022-23 season.
