Shane Wright loaned to Team Canada for World Juniors

The Kraken will be without Shane Wright again, though this time it’s following the plan that seems to be in place for him.

Seattle announced today that they would be loaning Wright to Team Canada for the World Junior Championships in Moncton and Halifax, which tracks with the supposed plan that the team had for him going back to his conditioning stint in Coachella Valley, which gave him an ample opportunity to play at least one game back in Seattle blues to score his first NHL goal in an honestly marked improvement over his first few games as a Kraken.

The embattled Hockey Canada organization will definitely be happy to see him, as he’ll allow them valuable veteran presence among their young phenoms like Connor Bedard and Adam Fantilli as they attempt to defend their gold performance from last year that was moved to the summer thanks to [TV Static because you know the thing that did it]

Presumably, thanks to the conditioning stint and more than likely top line minutes playing for Red and…Black(????) will give him even more valuable development time, and he’ll rejoin the team just after the new year an even more exciting young talent than he is already.

From all of us at DJLR, we wish him all luck and the best in the World Juniors!
