NHL: Seattle Kraken at Anaheim Ducks Jonathan Hui-USA TODAY Sports

The Need to Knows

The Time: 5pm PT

The Place: Honda Center in Anaheim, California

Place to Watch: ROOT-Northwest

Place to Listen: KJR 93.3 FM

An Opposing Viewpoint: Anaheim Calling (though we’ll also use Forever Mighty Podcast in this case as Anaheim Calling seems to be having trouble keeping regular track of the team)

Know your Enemy

  • Troy Terry is a very young boy in Anaheim, and he’s the leading point-getter for the Ducks with 21 in 21 games.
  • He is also tied in goals this year with Trevor Zegras of The Michigan fame, both of whom have 8 goals in 21 games.
  • Neither goaltender has been exceptional, but John Gibson is technically better than Anthony Stolarz. Both are below .900 SV%

Game Preview

The Kraken and the Ducks last met in the first game of the season. The Ducks won that game in overtime and then proceeded to spend most of their time in the interim getting absolutely blasted by whoever decided to roll in on the way to Disneyland. They’re all in on Connor Bedard, and will continue being all in on him until he’s wearing black and orange.

The Kraken, meanwhile, have openly defied any idea that they might struggle for points and goals and go on multi-game win streaks. The algorithms haven’t caught up yet, and most of the Toronto media haven’t bought in yet because they have to catch their Z’s at 6pm Pacific, but they’ll learn. Seattle will show them, and it could start tonight by getting back that win against a moribund Ducks squad who’s more interested in the draft than in any game they personally take part in.

Will the Ducks once again take a sneaky win from The Deep? Or will the Kraken finally get what’s theirs in the Ponda Center?

Tune in tonight at 5!
