Know Your Enemy

  • It took a minute for Rasmus Dahlin to finally become the game-changer defender scouts said he would be, but it looks like he’s finally found his groove, leading the Sabres with 8 points in 5 games.
  • Alex Tuch currently nurses a tidy 6 goals in five games, leading the Sabres.
  • It seems the Sabres haven’t really settled on who is their starter yet of Craig Anderson or Eric Comrie, but both are well above .920 save percentage between the five games the Sabres have played so far.

Game Preview

The Kraken straight up lost a game they shouldn’t have on Sunday night, and now need to make it up against one of the league’s favorite hot-start teams: The Sabres. The Sabres have had this thing where they start the season very well and then taper off due to injury or critical roster flaws catching up to them...but we’re not out of October yet, so the Sabres have been on a Pacific division rampage: thumping the Oilers, Flames, and Canucks all in the same week, and have only surrendered points to the Florida Panthers so far this season.

Kraken have their work cut out for them, but it’s work they need to get down to. The Kraken’s response to Chicago was flat out unacceptable, and while they’ve gotten plenty of help keeping their position at 3rd in the Pacific, they cannot rely on it being the case all season long; They gotta dull these Sabres tonight.

We’ll see if they can rise to that challenge at 7!
