The Need To Knows

The Time: 7pm PT

The Place: Climate Pledge Arena in beautiful Seattle, Washington

Place to Watch: ROOT-Northwest

Place to Listen: KJR 93.3fm

Know Your Enemy

  • Despite having played only two games, the Canes have a clear early point getter in Martin Necas, who has two goals and two assists.
  • The Hurricanes are one of a handful of teams so far that have a perfect penalty kill. Time will tell if that lasts.
  • Anttii Raanta and Freddie Andersen have split both games so far, and both came up with near spotless save percentages.

Game Notes

I can tell there's still a residual depression from Saturday night being The Most Agonizing Night in Recent Memory so I'll try to keep this light: the Golden Knights are tough, and so is this Canes team. All is not lost however, because this Kraken team is different. Its a tall order given the circumstances, but Carolina is coming off of Buffalo, who are still rebuilding, and the Sharks, who are in hell suffering for GM sins come to roost: not exactly world beaters. The Kraken aren’t exactly world beaters yet either, but they keep showing real promise, and a signature win over Carolina would show huge growth on their part.

Will the Canes continue to dominate? Or will the Kraken play spoiler to a strong early season start? At 7 tonight we find out!
