Game Preview:

A new season is finally upon us. Hope restored, Expectations set, and fans giddy for NHL action to finally be on our TVs, radios, and myriad other devices. The Kraken have set themselves up for what is hopefully an improved season…

…and are starting it on the road, on a back-to-back. THANKS, SCHEDULERS!

So yeah, the newish-look Kraken will be getting a hell of a start to their season with Anaheim and LA one right after the other; Anaheim is looking to prove a lot of the doubters wrong while also dealing with the potential long-term effects of not having their leading goaltender John Gibson due to an injury just this past Saturday. Seattle meanwhile, is trying to put their best foot forward after an inglorious start to the Kraken’s existence in their first season; the team is mostly all-new. It’s is a pretty hard mix of young and old. The team is ready to make a positive impression to fans who might still be hesitant to believe. It’s natural, years of Seattle sports being a psychological testing tool has seen to that. But if the Kraken can come out of this back-to-back looking good?

We could be in for a very fun season.

So let’s find out together where they stand tonight. Welcome back, NHL. It’s been too long.
