This comes at a time where nearly every NHL team is being hit with outbreaks of Covid-19. A few teams (Calgary, Florida, Colorado) have already announced they will not be playing until after the holiday break. Per Marisa Ingemi of the Seattle Times, there are at least 90 players in the NHL in Covid protocol at the moment — about 14% of the NHL’s active gameday rosters.

As of this writing, Seattle still has one game against Arizona before the holiday break. We’ll keep an eye on the latest news, as more postponements around the league are likely on their way.
Tonight’s game against Edmonton is still currently set to be played, with Chris Driedger getting the start for Seattle. As we’ve learned these past two years, however, things can change rapidly. For now, all we can do is wish all players and staff a quick and full recovery.
