It’s another late rainy afternoon in Seattle, and the Sabres since seeing your Kraken have been uh…not great.
Their early season powers have fully left them; making them 3-6-1 in their last 10, only occasionally picking up wins here and there, but mostly hampered by their defense and especially their goaltending getting putrid all at once, with Craig Andersen seeming to get the brunt of the criticism so far, and it is well earned; dude’s giving up some clunkers.
But here’s the thing…the Sabres are at the very least two things: Fast, and very capable of scoring. Tage Thompson post-Eichel has exploded in point-getting prowess; 10 goals, 5 assists, one of two or three players on the Sabres who are arguably capable of actually shoving the puck up ice in an orderly fashion (alongside Rasmus Asplund and a rebounding Vinnie Hinestroza), and of course, Rasmus Dahlin; doing what he can to get the puck up-ice for this team that has quickly settled back into what they normally are.
And boy, what a depressing statement that is.
